A businessman has questioned why men are more interested in fighting for submission and respect, rather than building an actual home. He said this in response to a tweet from actor Yul Edochie that reads: “Men stop tolerating nonsense in the name of marriage or relationship. “If your wife or girlfriend doesnt respect you, dump her immediately and get someone who respects you. “Your respect as a man is non negotiable.”Responding, Kelvin Onovo wrote: “A lot of Nigerian men today are fighting harder for submission than they are fighting to build an actual home. “And I genuinely dont understand it. Ask many men what they want in a wife and before anything else before peace, before partnership, before a woman who actually wants to build something with them youll hear ‘respect’ and ‘submission.’ “Whats this obsession with submission and respect. “Why not a home that works? “Why not a wife who is your actual friend? “Why not children who grow up watching their parents laugh together? “Why not peace in your own house? “What is it about being submitted to that so many African men cannot get off their minds? “If you turn right submissions if you turn left respect. “Can Somebody genuinely make me understand this.”
