Former Premier League referee David Coote has been charged with making a category A indecent video of a child, one of the most serious offences under UK law relating to indecent images. The 43-year-old, from Nottingham, is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Thursday, September 11, for the first hearing in connection with the charge. Category A offences are classified as the highest level, involving images or videos that depict penetrative s3xual activity. Cootes career as an elite referee came to an abrupt end last December when the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) dismissed him following the leak of an online video rant. In the footage, he insulted former Liverpool manager Jrgen Klopp, calling him a German c***, and branded Liverpool s***. In the video, Coote said Klopp had previously accused him of lying during a match against Burnley played behind closed doors during the pandemic. I have no interest in speaking to someone who is f**ing arrogant. So I do my best not to speak to him. James Milner is all right, I get on with him,* he said. Coote made his Premier League debut as a referee in April 2018 and was regarded as a rising official before his dismissal. Earlier this year, he was seen in doorbell camera footage working as a delivery driver for Evri. The case against him marks a dramatic fall from grace for the former top-flight referee, who now faces a serious criminal trial. The post Former Premier League referee David Coote charged with making category A indecent video of a child appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
