The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Adeshina Gilbert, over the alleged m#rder of a commercial driver, Agage Ternenge, in Obudu local government area of the state on July 18. The state police spokesperson, Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the arrest, said the victim had gone to the community to deliver a parcel when he was accosted by some hoodlums who stoned him to death. She mentioned that the suspect who is a resident of Abonkib community, Obudu Urban in Obudu local government of Cross River is presently in police custody. The victim, a native of Mbanyam in Mbatyough Council Ward, Vandeikya local government area, Benue State, was reportedly attacked and stoned to death while delivering a waybill to an individual in Obudu.A disturbing video of the incident, now circulating on social media, shows the inhumane assault carried out by a group of hoodlums, the PPRO explained in the statement. The State Commissioner of Police, who condemned the act, described it as barbaric, gross violation of fundamental human rights and dignity of person, stressing that police would go extra miles to apprehend other suspects who still on the run.The post Police arrest man for alleged murder of driver in Cross River appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
