The Edo State governorship election in parts of the Edo South Senatorial District has been delayed due to logistical issues.

As of 8 am on Saturday, September 21, election materials and electoral officials were still at the RAC center, causing a delay in the commencement of the election.

Some ad hoc officials expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that they had not been paid, while others reported that they had already received their payment.

As a result, there was reluctance among the officials to move to their assigned polling units without receiving their payments.

Upon visiting three polling units, it was observed that the election was not taking place due to the absence of materials and officials at polling units located at Oba Market, Zebayo Street, and Plymouth Road.

Additionally, there were no signs to identify the polling units, and some police officers deployed to the polling units were seen searching for the units to which they were assigned.
