Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has revealed that the players of the team have expressed their desire for a better performance in the 2024-2025 English Premier League season.

Arsenal narrowly missed out on the title to Manchester City in the last two campaigns and are determined to dethrone the reigning champions this season.

Ahead of their Premier League opener against Wolves on Saturday, Mikel Arteta emphasized that his players are the driving force behind the team’s ambition.

“All the players were saying to me, ‘We’re going to be better, we’re going to do it, we want more,’” Arteta said.

“They are the ones driving that ambition, so that’s always positive.”

Arsenal’s first match of the season is against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 17.

In the pre-match press conference earlier today, Arteta said he and his players are eager to kick off their title challenge.

He said: “We are really excited. We’ve been missing the competition for many weeks, too long for us.

“We’re so willing to start, really enthusiastic about it.

“We had a really challenging pre-season. The team has looked really sharp, really at it, and desperate to play.”

Arsenal’s aspirations are supported by their improvement in points tally over the past seasons, progressing from 56 points in the 2019-2020 season to an impressive 89 points last season.

This progression gives hope to the fans and the team that they can contend for their first Premier League title since 2004.
